Hortiboletus is a genus of fungi in the Boletaceae, probably the most common one I see in the midwest. There is surely cryptic diversity in the genus, but the most well-used names are H. campestris and H. rubellus.
I frequently see these little guys in the forest - they don't get very big, tend to have long skinny stems with yellow-white basal mycelium, and a red-to-pink cap that shows some cracking around the edge. The pore size is also large, and gets larger with maturity! They stain gently blue, but can't tolerate much handling as they are so soft and delicate.
Drawn in Procreate.
