Lactarius indigo are pine mycorrhizal fungi, and they are most commonly found at the end of summer. The purple ones, Laccaria ochropurpurea, partner with both conifers and hardwood so you can find them anywhere, it only takes a bit of luck. Both are not only beautiful, but edible!
