Morels - everyone has seen them, but have you ever seen one this close? They are oddly waxy looking and quite brittle. The pitted, mazelike surface is an evolutionary feature that leads to a greater surface area for increased spore dispersal. You can actually envision a morel as a cup fungus that has gotten so wrinkly it's not just a cup anymore!
