Morel. Need I say more?

Ok, this is a yellow morel, or Morchella americana. Up until recently, it was assumed that our morel species in North America were the same as those in Europe, but we actually have additional biodiversity, so while M. esculenta can be found here, most of our yellow/white morels are actually M. americana. We also have half-free morels, black morels, etc. and it depends on locale - western North America has a different fungal species composition!
