Plums and Custard Sticker

Tricholomopsis rutilans, or Plums and Custard Mushroom! Despite sounding delicious, they are not delicious. These are pine-loving fungi with a beautiful color palette, and are often quite small but the one I referenced for this drawing was a real chonk. Sadly, the derecho did a number on the white pines at Wickiup Hill County Park where I found that specimen, and we don't have many pines in Iowa - most are planted! 

Painted with watercolor, water-soluble ink, micron pens and acrylic paint markers.
