Ferns are ancient plants, using spores as their method of reproduction rather than spores, as do their even more ancient non-vascular cousins such like liverworts and mosses. No, they are still not related to fungi, but they do disperse in a similar way! I believe these are Resurrection Ferns, though I am not certain which.
