Patterns in nature are really fun to find. Gills are always interesting, especially since species all have different colors, arrangements, and things like gill depth and interveining between the gills influence how the entire shape plays out. This is a Veiled Oyster that got pushed up against another of its caps, so as it grew, the gills accordioned into this shape. And I may see this phenomenon again, but never exactly the same way.
